In a congratulatory message made available to IGBERE TV, Chief Ogah also described President Buhari as a true democrat who believes in the sanctity of the will of the people through the ballot system.
The statement reads; “I congratulate the president Federal Republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari for the approval of June 12 as the new date for the commemoration of return of democratic governance in our land as against May 29 that has erroneously been the norm in the near two decades ago.
“This beyond every reasonable doubt is indicative of the fact that the president recognises the sacrifices of the widely acclaimed winner of that election Chief MKO Abiola at enthroning a footprint of rich democratic culture in our country for the overall betterment of our people.
“The president by this posthumous honour and recognition done the late former president MKO Abiola, his Deputy Amb. Babagana Kingibe and late civil rights activist Gani Fawehinmi has demonstrated to the world that he is a true democrat who believes in the sanctity of the will of the people through the ballot system which June 12 represents and a strong promoter of democratic principles and ethos.
“I once again congratulate the president and wish all Nigerians a happy democracy day in advance”.
