A ‘jilted’ boyfriend calmly shot dead his ex-girlfriend outside her university dormitory – then lay down and hugged her body. Pukkapong Chittarom, 24, waited for student Natchareeya Thaprajit, 21, before gunning her down as she headed to class, police say.
Horrifying footage captured him pulling out a handgun and blasting her in the chest with a .38 bullet in Bangkok, Thailand, this morning.
The pair had known each other for around five years.
But they had recently separated – with Natchareeya, who was studying business logistics, apparently refusing to reconcile with Chittarom.
The gunman was caught on CCTV waiting outside Natchareeya’s dorm before she emerged with a classmate at about 11.30am local time.
The young woman was on her way to class at the Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University and briefly stopped when she saw her ex.
However, she apparently would not talk with Chittarom and as she turned to walk away, he pulled out the gun and pointed it at her.
She turned back round and, moments later, he shot her in the chest.
After the third-year student collapsed to the ground, Pukkapong was filmed sitting beside her body before lying back on the floor.
Police say he hugged his ex-partner’s body then turned the gun on himself – unloading a bullet into his mouth, which he survived.
Officers and other emergency services arrived at the scene of the incident, but Natchareeya was tragically pronounced dead.
Chittarom was taken to hospital, where he remains under police guard. Police will investigate the case and speak with the family of the deceased. remains
