House of Representative aspirant for Bende Federal Constituency, Barrister Benjamin Kalu has said that light of democracy will shine brighter for Bende in 2019. He said this in a Democracy Day statement made available to Igbere TV.
The statement reads in full :
“Yes it is obvious we have not gotten to the desired destination in upholding the principles of democracy, but we are making progress”.
“As we celebrate this all important day, let us remain hopeful that the perfect democratic standards are achievable in Nigeria. Any alternative is not for the growth of our dear country”.
“It takes selflessness to uphold what democracy defines, it is not about self , it is about the people. Until the “We” is greater than the “I” in the equation of governance, democracy cannot be said to in practice. “We the people “ should always decide…. let’s use our PVC to speak our minds in the coming elections”.
“Don’t lose hope. From 2019 the light of democracy will shine brighter for Bende Federal Constituency against every leadership that is soaked in self service and against the will of the people”.
