Imo APC Crisis: Deputy Gov Dismisses Reconciliation With Okorocha

Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has dissociated himself from rumoured  reconciliation move between him and Governor Rochas Okorocha, purportedly being spearheaded by family members of the governor, describing it as a figment of the imagination of the pedders.Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has dissociated himself from rumoured  reconciliation move between him and Governor Rochas Okorocha, purportedly being spearheaded by family members of the governor, describing it as a figment of the imagination of the pedders.

The relationship between Governor  Okorocha and his deputy, who has been his long time friend and  political ally got sour when the governor endorsed his son- in-law and Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu.

In a press statement signed by his media aide, Uche Onwuchekwa, Madumere expressed astonishment over the rumour and said  he only got to know about the purported  reconciliation through barrage of calls and text messages by concerned Imo citizens. He said there was nothing on the table to call for such reconciliation.

“I only got to know about the said reconciliation between me and the state governor through the barrage of calls and text messages by concerned Imo citizens, who wanted to verify if it was, indeed, true. For me, there is nothing on the table to warrant such reconciliation.”

Madumere further said he only disagreed with his boss and friend of many years, Governor Okorocha, on principle, with the resolve to pursue his political  goal, which is to contest the governorship, through which he hopes to provide real and positive leadership to the good people of Imo in 2019.

He, therefore, charged his numerous supporters and Imolites to discountenance such insinuations coming from rumour mills and kite fliers, pointing out: “This is a form of distraction, and I will not fall for such cheap blackmail,” the statement said.
