Benjamin Kalu has pledged to pay salaries of teachers who’s Students excel in BKF Essay competition 2018. This is in addition to full scholarship being offered to the successful students in the competition.

In a press statement made available to IGBERE TV, Kalu, who is a House of Representatives aspirant for Bende Federal Constituency also pledged to use his office, when elected, to advance the cause of Children in his Constituency and beyond.

The statement reads in full:

“Any society without children is a society without hope for the future. We are here today because we were the future of the yesterdays while they are around us as the future of nation’s tomorrow. How they are managed, preserved, protected, educated, guided is the seed for the kind of nation we all currently dream of. For we cannot harvest what we failed to sow today.

“When chosen by the citizens of Bende Federal Constituency,
promoting the rights of the child from birth to adulthood will be one of my tasks at the National Assembly either in legislating, representing or in my oversight functions.

“As a lover of children the way Jesus asked us to love them, I will share all within my reach to reduce the number of children on the streets. We are currently using Benjamin Kalu foundation to anchor some children specific projects and we intend to build more partnerships with the public, private sectors and Non governmental and Non profit agencies to assist our rural children. We intend to prepare Bende children irrespective of family background to compete favourably with their mates in the cities especially by providing solid education and other  exposures to them.

“Benjamin Kalu foundation is currently in discussions to engage the highly educated Roman Catholic Reverend ministers to assist our rural schools by becoming teachers under the pay roll of the foundation. The Foundation will pay for few of their hours weekly to go and teach our children in the rural schools and prepare them for the basics as well as the external exams. We also call on the public to partner with us in this noble investment into the future of our communities, State and the Nation.

“To celebrate the children the more, Chief Benjamin Kalu the founder of the 15 years old Charity Foundation, announced the presentation of a full scholarship for the winners of the “BKF annual essay competitions in both the Primary and Secondary school categories “, the teachers of such students shall be awarded the payment of the 13th and the 14th month salary for their dedication and commitment to children education. Schools are encouraged to pick up the forms at the Uzuakoli office of the Foundation.

Beyond the football leagues we have successfully organised for five years now in a roll in the Federal Constituency, it is time we increase our effort in educating our children.

“Happy Children’s day to our lovely children and join us in Benjamin Kalu Foundation – BKF where we build the communities that build the nation.
