Saraki Is Not Welcome In Our Party – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Kwara state has said Senate President, Bukola Saraki will not be welcomed into their fold if there are plans by him to return to the Party.

The party’s Publicity secretary in the state, Mr. Femi Yusuf disclosed this in a chat with The NEWS DIGEST.

The party stalwart lamented that Saraki deserted the same party that brought him to limelight in 2003: ” Even though our party is open to everyone because it is a People’s party if he wants to return to the party, let me test his strength at new parties like Social Democratic Party(SDP), ADC and other parties”. He should not return to PDP for now”. This same party brought him to limelight and he has gone ahead to join another party, why should he return to the party”. He further said the travails of Saraki with the Nigerian Police is a self-inflicted injury.

“Why is it that Saraki always allege conspiracy. Is he the only one? what is the big deal in him being indicted? if he is indicted, he should clear himself. He is only raising false alarm because he has something in his cupboard. If he doesn’t have anything in his cupboard, he should come out clean”, said the party spokesperson. He further said that “during the time he took over from former Governor Lawal, he was the same person that would arrest Lawal supporters and take them to Abuja for Prosecution, why is he now crying foul” he quipped. Mr Yusuf said the state has not been working all thanks to Mr. Saraki’s influence “This same Saraki did install the incumbent Governor and yet nothing is done under same Governor”. You can see that opposition is going on day by day in Kwara because people are fed up”.

There are rumors that Bukola Saraki may dump the ruling APC. The nPDP recently wrote a letter to the All Progressives Congress alleging marginalization, although the party met with the aggrieved members which includes Saraki, but the outcome of the meeting remains unclear.
Reports also say that APC in Kwara state which used to be a stronghold of the Senate President have been fractionalized. It would be recalled that The News Digest reported how a group in Kwara threw its weight behind the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, just as Saraki is alleging that the Police Chief wants to victimize him, a claim the Nigerian Police has continually dispelled as falsehood.
