…Feelings of betrayal, abandonment and suffering trail plights of detainees who celebrated Trump’s electoral victory

The emotional trauma that enveloped some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), who visited their detained brothers remanded in Port Harcourt Maximum Security Prison by Nigerian security operatives, following the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari, for celebrating the presidential victory of Donald J. Trump, can never be wished away by mere utterances.
This sombre situation erupted right after the news of Buhari’s visit to the White House in Washington broke out. There were impressions of dissatisfaction and betrayal on the faces of the detainees over the ensuing handshake of president Donald J. Trump with his Nigerian counterpart who has done virtually everything to deny them their inalienable right to self-determination. Tears rolled down in bewilderment.
Lots of questions were directed to President Trump by the wounded detained IPOB members over the psych or the moral justification in seeing Muhammadu Buhari when there are innocent people still locked up in Port Harcourt Maximum Security Prison for over a year simply because they came out on the streets to celebrate his victory. How come the man responsible for their illegal detention is being welcomed to the White House as if nothing happened? Does it mean that President Trump is playing down on the 20th of January 2017 massacre in Port Harcourt?
The pro-Biafra detainees, Mazi Ikenna Igwe from Amekaikwo Village in Ikwo Local government area of Ebonyi State, Uchenna Innocent from Awo Mberi Village in Mbaitolu Local government area of Imo State, Bright Sunday Okoro from Eze Kporoke village in Onicha Local government area of Ebonyi State and Chidinma Godwin Nwafor from Okposi Village in Ohazara L.G.A of Ebonyi State, are suffering for celebrating Trump’s victory amongst countless others who lost their lives on that fateful day by the Nigerian military forces.
