According to reports reaching Igbere TV news desk, there is pandemonium in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital as soldiers are currently locked down in a gun battle with Boko Haram terrorist. Residents gripped with fear were seen leaving the area along with their families as the battle continues.
The insurgents reportedly made their way through a cashew plantation to the Jiddari Polo area of the state.
Residents are reported to be in a panic and are fleeing the area for safety.
Also, heavy gunshots around Giwa Barracks were heard.
Reports, however, say that the terrorists attacked from three fronts; Aliramti Jiddari-Polo, Giwa Barracks & Molai area.
The Air Force is currently conducting air patrol around the metropolis while residents are trapped in the traffic caused by the pandemonium which is quite chaotic.
