Ikpeazu is Too Slow to Make Impact - Ngwa Elder

A former president of the Institute of chartered Accountant of Nigeria, and Governor Ikpeazu’s kinsman, Chief Chidi Ajaegwu has described the pace at which Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is approaching the infrastructural renewal of Aba the commercial hub as slow.

He said the reason why people like him throw their weight behind the emergence of the presents administration in the State, was because they thought that Aba would been renewed in terms of infrastructural, to improve the economy of the State and reduce crime in the State.

Ajaegwu who stated in an interview with Journalists shortly after joining the All progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Umuahia insisted that if the commercial city is renewed it would attract more investors to the State.

He said, “Once you have security in an environment, you will attract more industries and more economic breakthroughs. At some time Aba was the hub of the trade in the entire west Africa and people were coming from West African Countries to buy goods in Aba because there was good roads and security.

” But I think there was no passionate disposition towards the renewal of infrastructure in Aba by the government in power. I also think that the welfare of workers in Abia State wasn’t prioritized, and because those were the two issues that made some of us to support the government in the first place.

“But since those issues were not handled properly after taking about them for some time, I think it was not necessary for me to continue to associate with that government,”.

He explained that he will contest the senatorial election in the Abia central district in the 2019 general election.
