An Epic Reply To Obasanjo's Letter To President Buhari

By S.R Owolabi

*Having read Dr Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to Mr President i have these few words to say:*

Dear Dr Olusegun Obasanjo,

Our one and only Baba Iyabo, one of the best intellectuals Africa has ever produced, our own baba Legba, ‘ebora owu fun rae’, the key game starter of our Democratic fourth republic, one of the most influential men in Africa as it stands today. No shaking baba, kepe oo!
Lest I forget too, baba was one of those who cemented and solidified the foundation of our “Institutionalised Democratic Corruption” in Nigeria. Baba Legba funrae. I hail oo!

Baba Iyabo Sir,
You have turned overnight and in recent times, an astute advocate for the poor-innocent citizens of Nigeria against hunger and political ineptitude, because of Brother Buhari’s “hunger-distribution administration” in vogue.
Anyways, its good to repent. I firmly believe now you want the best for Nigeria isn’t it? Okay oo. contunu, God will see us!
But Baba Legba,

Have you forgotten you were stoned by citizens of Nigeria on the Lagos ibadan express way after the completion of your two ‘beautiful terms’ of eight years, having attempted another four years which was unsuccessful?
Just a reminder though!
What are you now telling brother Buhari, has he said he is running, what if he just wanted to run to Daura to go and rest as you advised.
Our respected Baba Legba,
You must show us your repentance certificate, and other exhibits. let us know how remorseful you are and how much you want to return to the coffers of Nigeria from what you also carted away at least to assist this ‘dead economy’ that does not obey military orders . Abi, do you think we have all forgotten Your operation feed the nation, FADAMA projects etc? Impossible.
How many people benefitted from them where are the projects now? were they not turned to Obasanjo farms of Nigeria? Baba!
Baba Iyabo,

Going by a Yoruba saying that ( òrò kodun lenu iyá olè) the thief’s innocence does not lie in the mouth of his mother, abi What evidence can the mother of a thief give as to his innocence, ‘omo njale eni rara o, onfewo ni o’ when we said someone is a thief, you denied, saying he is only light fingered. What is the difference?
Abeegi, What advice is baba Iyabo giving us gaan. I firmly believe posterity/prosperity has not forgotten/forgiven you, because you still have a lot of stakes in this polity. Abi am I lying?
Any ways, thats by the way.

Bother Buhari, Brother Buhari, Bother Buhari! how many times did i call you?
Please don’t throw away the baby with the bathwater, at least baba Iyabo influenced your coming into office and even he is your Egbon. He has been defending you since you came in. He even said Nigerians should give you time, that its too early to complain. Please take the hints of the court’. Take BABA’s hints oo. More so he is been realistic now, please heed!
Brother Buhari,

For the purpose of the politics of Nigeria, baba Iyabo is an oracle as it stands, am sure you know that, don’t just sweep the beautiful pieces of advice under the carpet. Please consider them and Work on them. The masses are crying.
Brother Buhari,
Do remember that the downfall of this administration began upon your appointments. We know you as Mr integrity but you’re surrounded by people whose hands are soiled in palm oil, now they have stained your white Babariga.
May Our Lord protect you.
Nonethe less, Brother Buhari,
I won’t advice you to run again or not to run, at least running is an exercise; but just weigh the options available, before you declare. If not Nigerians will change the change oo.
So help you God.
Someone wrote that:
2015- sai baba!
2016- kai baba!
2017- ah baba!
2018- aba baba!
2019- bye baba!
But Sincerely, have not seen better options oo. may be fellow Nigerians can suggest fresh bloods that can dothe miracle they want, because I as a person don’t support recycling.
Enough is enough.!
Let me stop here for today.
Thanks.
May the good Lord bless Nigeria.
