President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed that Nigerians have a constitutional right to live, work and raise their families anywhere in the country without restrictions.
He made this remark on Saturday in his country home, Daura, Katsina State, when he received the governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Bello Aminu Masari as part of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, quoted the President as saying that the Federal Government of Nigeria would guarantee the security of everyone in the country.
Buhari also pledged that the FG would ensure protection of all Nigerians from harassments by reason of their state of origin, tribe or ethnic background.
The President said: “Every Nigerian has a right to live, work and thrive in every part of the country, irrespective of their backgrounds.”
Speaking to newsmen after the visit, Masari said President Buhari had brought so much honour and pride to his home state by living a life of integrity, fairness and kindness to all, a reflection of his fear of God.
He noted that the President’s leadership style had attracted positive global attention to the state, and the country, praying that God would continue to uphold him in good health.
