Only Aba Can Generate N100m Daily For Abia State Govt. - Uche Ogah

The President of Masters Energy group, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah has said the Abia government is yet to harness the resources the state owned.

According to him, “only Aba leather market can generate N100m daily for the state government if properly harnessed.

Ogah stated this yesterday when members of the Abia Online Media Practitioners (AMPON) paid him a courtesy visit in his Onuaku home, in Isiukwuato LGA of Abia State.

He stressed that the state government does not have any reason to borrow any money (without any project to show for it), or owe salaries to civil servants because the money generating each day in the state is enough to pay off the backlog of salaries.

Speaking briefly with journalists, Ogah opined that if the resources in Aba only, can be properly harnessed, Abia State would have become the most growing state in Nigeria, in Africa both in economy and human capital.

“The state government is not properly harnessing the resources on ground, do you know how much Ariaria International Market generates a day? Ogah asked the journalists, adding that even the Keke (Tricycle operators), do you know how much they generate a day only in Aba?

According to the business mogul, “only Tricycle in Aba is generating about N600m for the state every month.

For Abia State to move forward, Dr. Ogah said the state government must work with the private sector, revamp companies like Golden Guinea which, when operating has over thousands of workers, but has been shut down for years, leading to laying off those thousands of workers.

Abia has resources which, if properly managed, the state has no reasons to borrow because borrowing means nothing, but bondage, the oil magnate said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ogah, although, did not say if he will contest for the governorship position in Abia state in 2019, but stressed that Abia deserves the best, adding that to let that happen, the Abians should rise up and take a stand.

He took the journalists round his Mega Factory (known as “Masters Instant Noodles” situated in his hometown in Onuaku, Isikwuato LGA, Abia State – where he showed the pressmen the magnificent of the factory and what it can produce.
