BREAKING!!! PDP begs Sheriff to return to party

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP has urged former factional leader, Ali Modu Sherrif and his supporters to take advantage of the reconciliation window opened by the party to make a come back.

The advised was given by the Chairman, PDP rescue group Wilberforce Juta when the group paid a visit to the party secretariat on Thursday.

Junta commended the chairman of the party Ahmed Makarfi for extending hands of fellowship to all aggrieved members of the party.

“We hereby urge Sen. Sheriff and his supporters to positively respond to this gesture to avail themselves to the abundant opportunities that abound in the PDP.

“This is how it should be and we are thankful and proud to belong to this democratically civilized PDP family,’’ Juta said.

In his respondes, the chairman, Markarfi said the party is open to all new members but cautioned that the days of impunity and imposition is over in PDP

“We are open to reconciling with everybody. We are open to accepting new entrants into the party, but no special privileges for anybody coming into the party.

“That is not an issue to be contemplated. No exclusivity. It will be inclusive without any special privilege to anybody or group of individuals.

He regretted that it was imposition that made the once rulling party to become the opposition.

“That is how the ruling party got it wrong. We should learn from that.

“What we need to do is that we will create level-playing field; and we don’t lord it over those who have slaved for the party,” Mr. Makarfi said.

Markafi also took a swipe of party members who defected to APC, describing them as nomadic politicians, who are always on the move to anywhere they find pasture.

People can as well be nomadic politicians and migrate to where the pasture is green for whatever reasons.

“In some African countries, we didn’t hear of this kind of mobility, but in Nigeria, we are nomadic politicians.

“We have many nomadic politicians and they should behave well. They will be welcomed but I stand by what I have said earlier,” the chairman insisted.
