Five Ways To Silence Biafra Agitations

centrifugal concentration of power to centripetal.States and local government which are closer to the grassroots need more social responsibility

3.CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT- This is long overdue. We can assume that the 1999 constitution was transcribed in a rush and it is ridiculously incongruous with the realities of today. For power to be decentralised to the benefit of states and local Government council, for a truly independent INEC, for more political and social transparency…this is the way to go.

4.IGBO PRESIDENCY- As ridiculous as it may sound, as far as Ndigbo is concerned it is long overdue! The Igbos need to feel like a part of Nigeria again, they have been ostracised for too long.It pains me to read a statement “credited” to Chinua Achebe saying “the most unifying factor in Nigeria is hatred for the Igbos.” Nobody hates the Igbos as a people, this is so far from the truth. It is politicians that take advantage of our differences for political gains.

We all know Politics practised in Nigeria is ethnoreligious. If this does not silence Biafra agitation, it will change the tone to a less volatile one.

5.NATIONAL CONFERENCE-We don’t have to repeat the outrageously expensive conference called by GEJ.The federal government only needs to call all relevant bodies including IPOB, MASSOB, AREWA, AFENIFERE among others into a dialogue that will help to stop the cold war and severe the cord pulling us apart.
