2019: Wike accuses Amaechi of breeding new cult group

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused the former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi of recruiting new cult groups in the State called ‘New Rivers Initiative’.

Governor Wike made the accusation in Gokana Local Government Area at the commissioning of Kpopie Bodo Road, the home of the Senator representing Rivers South East District, Senator Magnus Abe.

He alleged that the former Governor of the State inaugurated the cult groups at Woji Road, along the G.R.A axis of Port Harcourt with a sum of N500,000 each given to the cult groups.

Wike further alleged that the aim was geared towards plunging the State to another round of crisis ahead of 2019 election in the State.

While alerting the security agencies and Nigerians at large on the perceived plot, he insinuated that those spearheading the cult groups are, Assistant National Secretary of the All Progessives Congress, Amb. Oji Ngofa and former Council Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government, Ojukaye Amachree who is facing arraignment at two separate courts on charges of murder in the state.

He said, “Let me alert Nigerians before they will say I am complaining. I’m not complaining but I just want everybody to know. So that when it happens you don’t begin to blame innocent people.

“You all know we have granted amnesty to all the boys involved in cultism in this state.

“But for this new cult groups they will be spearheaded by Ojukaye Flag Amachree who is in two separate courts for murder trial and Oji Ngofa.”
