OH NO! NIGERIAN AIRLINE BANNED FROM EUROPEAN SPACE (SEE WHY)

Nigerian airline, Med-View Airline has been banne from entering the European Airspace barely 18 months after the airline commenced the

Lagos- London route. Med-View which is the only Nigerian carrier on the European route was banned by the European Union after citing safety reasons which include the failed worthiness test of the airline’s Boeing 767 aircraft.

The European Union further noted that the aircraft which the airline operates in flying passengers to Gatwick, London is not airworthy and as such advised the airline to change its aircraft or altogether suspend operations pending the time it acquires a worthy aircraft.

Med-View Airline, one of the seven airlines barred due to safety conditions is however part of the 18 other airlines barred from flying into the European airspace as 174 others were barred from Europe due to safety oversight by aviation authorities in their home countries.

The European Union further de-listed all carriers from Mozambique and Republic of Benin from the list of airlines banned.

Confirming the ban, a Director with the airline, Alhaji Ishaq Na’ Allah, explained that the UK civil aviation requested the airline stop flying its B767 and has advised it to lease another aircraft. He further noted that the airline is working frantically to resolve the issue with the UK authorities.
