Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday said suspended Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Amb. Ayo Oke, did not spend “a kobo” on ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign in 2015.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had recently suspended Oke for saying NIA owned the huge cash in both foreign and local currencies the EFCC recovered in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos
Reports have it that the fund recovered at the Ikoyi apartment was the remainder of Jonathan’s campaign funds.
But, the former Minister, who took to his twitter handle insisted that Oke did not sponsor Jonathan’s campaign.
He stressed that the reports were aimed at tarnishing the image of the suspended NIA DG.
Fani-Kayode wrote, “The attempt to rubbish the DG of the NIA and destroy him by certain elements in government will fail. He did not spend one kobo on GEJ’s campaign.”
