Ugandan Woman Aged 37 Who Has 38 Kids For One Husband Says She’s Making Babies To Stay Alive Due To High Ovary Count.

Mariam Nabatanzi Babirye, a 37-year-old native of Kabimbiri in Uganda whose story went viral yesterday for having 38 kids has opened up on why she keeps producing babies even when her husband wasn’t financially capable to take care of them.

Mariam who is suffering from a rare genetic disorder that makes her to have high ovary count said she was married off by her aunt at the age of 12.

She gave birth to her first child at age 13 and since then, her ovulation count has been on the high side.

Mariam who is currently nursing a 4-month-old baby had 6 sets of twins, 4 set of triplets and 3 sets of quadruplets and single births.

10 of her children are girls while the 28 others are boys.

Her oldest is 23-year-old while her youngest is a 4 month-old she delivered in December.

She said she has tried different birth control methods including IUD which almost killed her.

Her condition is unique in that doctors have advised her to keep making babies if she plans to live long.

Though all the kids belong to one father, her husband is however not able to cater to the needs of all her children.

She said her condition is genetic because her father has 45 children with different women.

Politicians in Mukono District outside of Kampala had mobilised government funds to provide Mariam with maize seeds to start a farming business.

Hope some international organization can come to the rescue of this woman.
