An inter-rival cult clash that erupted between members of Vikings and Buccaneer has left a final year student of the Ebonyi State University, Theophilus Onele dead.
Two other students are reportedly injured in the renewed cult clash in the university.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jude Madu, disclosed that the State Commissioner of Police, Titus Lamorde, has ordered a house to house search of cultists in a bid to flush them out.
Madu urged the public to supply the police with relevant information on the whereabouts of cultists, adding that the manhunt will include their houses, lectures halls and other outlets where they operate.
“This search will be conducted in the institution and the whole of Abakaliki. We’ve already made radio and television announcements to this effect,” Madu said.
