Ibrahim Magu Terrorizing Senators Because He was Rejected By the Lawmakers

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has been accused by Senator Francis Alimikhena of terrorizing the Senate because it refused to confirm his appointment.

The allegation was made on the floor of the Senate.

“Let’s hear from @MBuhari on Magu’s case, Magu is terrorizing us, because we disqualified him,” Senator Francis Alimikhena said.

As a result of pending issues concerning Magu, the Senate decided to postpone the screening and confirmation of 27 Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for two weeks in protest.

“Sen. Uroghide also wants the request to be stand down, cites Magu’s case, that after their decision he is still acting Chairman of the EFCC,” the Senate handle wrote.

Earlier, the Senate President Bukola Saraki had accused Magu of trying to drag his name in the mud because he had been rejected by the legislative chamber.
