In the history of Nigeria government and politics, it has become a Norm that when election period is near ,politicians which include governors, senators, and even president will try to be relevant by building new roads, installing street lights etc. despite when this projects have already been done by the previous administration, they must re-work on it.
This is the case of Peter Obi and Rochas Okorocha whom have recently throws there weight on Biafra restoration and even calls for the release of Nnamdi kanu who is a prisoner of conscience.
We all may recall that since IPOB started their protest , Nigeria security forces especially army and police had severally shot and killed innocent Igbo youths during their Gestapo style operations.
But to the amazement of all, no South-Eastern governors had ever stood up to condemns the barbaric attacks melted to this innocent people who were only protesting for their rights.
It is funny enough that since the unlawful arrest of Nnamdi kanu, Eastern politicians have kept mute, except Ike Ekwere Mmadu the Deputy senate president who have consistently calls for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
Now that Anambra gubernatorial election and 2019 presidential election is around the corner, most of this politicians have started crawling out from their deceptive shell like tortoise trying to fraternize with Nnamdi kanu in other to be relevant in politics.
Off course, Nnamdi kanu is the pillar that holds the unity of igbo race. Though he is in prison yet he commands Millions of her loyal members, and they are diligently loyal to obey his commands.
Having realize this, igbo politicians had started showing their support for Nnamdi kanu in other to woo his fans into voting for them in the upcoming elections.
It is important for IPOB to keep disregarding this fellows who only calls for the release of Nnamdi kanu through the front page of Newspapers.
If truely Igbo politicians want to be relevant in politics, if truely they want their names to be written in the golden books, if truely they want national reconciliation move, let them do the right thing by asking the Nigeria judicial council to stop Justie Binta Nyako and her double standard ruling and demand for the immediate release of Nnamdi kanu through the most legal means.
