The Students Union Government, SUG, of the Polytechnic of Ibadan, has alleged police brutality of eleven students of the institution who were arrested by the Oyo S
tate Police Command on Tuesday.
The Oyo State Police had reportedly claimed that the students assaulted the police, breaching public peace and invaded its headquarters.
But the President of the SUG, Comrade Oluwadamilola Peter Edema, yesterday refuted the allegations.
Edema recounted their one night ordeal in an interview with DAILY POST on Monday at the SUG Building of the institution, saying the students never assaulted the police.
However, images obtained by DAILY POST have shown how the students were brutalized by the police.
