Rapper Skepta Calls Out President Tinubu Over Insecurity In Nigeria

Renowned British-Nigerian rapper and music executive Skepta has sparked intense debate across social media after directly calling out Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the worsening economic hardships and rampant insecurity plaguing the West African nation.

In a concise post on X on May 30, 2026, the Mercury Prize-winning artist, born Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr., explicitly tagged the president’s official handle, @officialABAT, demanding answers for the country’s ongoing turmoil.

“How much suffering is enough? @officialABAT,” Skepta wrote.

The viral post, which instantly garnered millions of impressions, comes amidst a backdrop of severe national anxiety. It follows a separate impassioned video address from the rapper, in which he raised the alarm over rising insecurity and systemic injustices in Nigeria, pleading with the international community, global activists, and fellow celebrities to amplify the voices of everyday Nigerians.

“There is so much injustice in Nigeria,” Skepta stated in the viral video clip. “Whenever I can, whether it is at my shows, verbally or through images… we are going to speak up. Nigerians need help. We need people to speak up for us as well. We need to protect Nigerians.”
