Two in court for allegedly stealing from Mr Biggs

Sunday, who resides at Ifo, in Ogun and Fatima, who resides at Bello Street,  Agbado- Crossing, Ogun, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges of  conspiracy and stealing brought against them.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Babaji Ishaku, told the court that the accused committed the offences between January and December 2016, at Mr Biggs outlet at Cement in Dopemu, Lagos.

Ishaku said that the complainant, Mrs Dele Layemi reported the case against the defendants- Sunday, a supervisor and Fatima, a sales person.

He said that the duo conspired with others now at large to steal N696,000 cash from Mr Biggs by using reprinted and already used Point of Sales (POS) receipts to cover up the stolen money.

According to him, the complainant alleged that the duo conspired by reprinting fake POS to balance every sales they make at the end of the day.

This was discovered while checking the account of December 2016 sales.

The prosecutor said that the month was short by N696,000, while the bank statement was N1.022million.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The Magistrate, Mr A.J. Adegun, granted the accused N100,000 bail each with two sureties each in like sum.

He adjourned the case till Jan. 22 for mention.
