How Deadly Fleeing Boko Haram Member Was Caught Hiding in Oyo State

A suspected Boko Haram terrorist who was on the run has been caught in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to the Oyo State Police Command he is now being interrogated by security agents.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adekunle Ajisebutu stated that the terrorists simply identified as Alkali was arrested by security operatives after he confessed that he fled from Sambisa forest.

He was arrested on Sunday night of January 1st by the men of the state police command from Iyaganku Division around Alalubosa GRA, Ibadan metropolis, following a tip-off from residents.

He said “Yes, a man was arrested on the night of Sunday January 1st 2017. It is true. He was arrested. The man is still at the state CID for further interrogation.

“The matter is still under investigation at the state CID. Thank you.”

According to him, he ran from Sambisa Forest after the place was captured by the military. A source who begged not to be named said Alkali confessed that he fled from Sambisa Forest in Borno State and got to Mobil, Ring Road, Ibadan on foot.

He was immediately accosted by some Hausas who are plying their trade there. They immediately called the attention of their leader who subjected him to a round of interrogation.

He, however, fled from them, only to be seen at the Alalubosa GRA area by some residents who were curious of his appearance and way of dressing. The residents of Alalubosa GRA immediately notified the Iyaganku Division of the state police command.

The command, thereafter, sent a team of security personnel to effect his arrest and he was eventually taken to the police station.
