MASSOB Rejects Secret Trial of Nnamdi Kanu, Warns Buhari, Nyako
The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has rejected Justice Binta Nyako’s verdict on the trial of Nnamdi Kanu and others at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
A statement made available to journalists in Awka on Tuesday by the group’s leader, Uchenna Madu, said that MASSOB will not cease to stand by their comrades who have been incarcerated for the sake of Biafra.
The statement reads: “With utmost concern and consciousness of our brothers’ welfare and security of lives, MASSOB will continue to stand with our incarcerated comrades in prison for the sake of Biafra.
“How can a presiding judge in a so called independent judiciary as an arm of a government that claims to operate a democracy be so cheap and allow herself to be manipulated in such a bizarre manner?
“Are Nnamdi Kanu and others terrorists that they should be tried in secret? Why must the arranged witnesses cover their identities? Why must masquerades be allowed to testify against human beings?
“These are signs of jittery, frustration and uncomfortable minds of our oppressors including the masquerades that are supposed to be revered; it’s also the beauty of non violence against a tyrannical fundamentalist.
“Though Nigeria judiciary is being mesmerised by the Presidency, this latest judicial manipulation against Nnamdi Kanu and others is the worst form of rascality, subjection and over dominance of the executive arm against the judicial arm of the worst democratic government in the world.
“Justice Binta Nyako has proved her willingness to partly execute the Organization of Islamic Country (OIC)’s order to President Buhari for exclusive Islamization of the entire Nigeria.
“This judgment is not targeted wholly against the people of Biafra but the Nigerian Christians in general because the Islamic world deeply knows that it is only the people of Biafra that will liberate Nigerian Christians from the shackles of Islamic political, religious and cultural domination.
The group while stressing that the detention of Kanu cannot cage the conscience and consciousness of the Biafra people or the self determination struggle further noted that Kanu represents the people of Biafra and carries the burden of the Biafra nation.
“Nnamdi Kanu may seem to be the leading figure of the current Biafra struggle, Biafra is bigger, taller and greater than leaders of pro Biafran groups,” the statement added.
