A former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed two political positions he may be contesting for come 2019 general elections.
The former Governor, who ruled Abia for eight years, said he may re-contest the position if the need be, adding that there’s no law restricting him.
Kalu, who spoke in an interview with Arise TV, also revealed that nothing will stop him from running for the senate position he has tried three times unsuccessfully.
Asked what positions he’ll be gunning for in the next elections, Kalu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC said , “Well, there’s only one position for me to run at this time. I have a two-time governor. Should I run for governor again? That looks impossible though.
“Its not been tested by any law that after 10 years I cannot go back to run for governor of Abia State, its possible.
“The only left is testing whether I can be governor again or testing whether I can run for senate and its open.
“To contest for the Senate is my interest and no one can tell me what to do. Its personal and that is what I will like to do.
“We are on track in whatever we want to do. My political relevance is not waning in Abia State. We are very much on track. Mind you the last election I contested for was said to be inconclusive.
“If anybody had won the result would have come out 4 am and they said it was inclusive but by 2 pm somebody called result. I know in all those three occasions I won the elections but the PDP used the agencies they had power over to re-write the results and I accepted them in good fate. So I will continue to try to restore the mandate of the people because what they are holding is the mandate of the people.”
