Maj. Gen. Ahmed Taiwo (Rtd), son of late Col. Ibrahim Taiwo, has pleaded with the people of Asaba to forgive his family and father for the Asaba Massacre.

The Asaba Massacre was a mass killing of civilians by Nigerian federal troops during the biafran war in Asaba, in present-day Delta State, Nigeria.
The people of Asaba had gathered in a public procession with many dressed in traditional white clothing and chanting support for “One Nigeria,” hoping to demonstrate their loyalty.
Nigerian Soldiers separated the men and older boys from women and young children and open fire on them at Ogbe-Osawa.
It is remembered as one of the most devastating atrocities against civilians during the war, particularly because many of the victims were unarmed men and boys.
