The Abayomi Hunye Governorship Campaign Organisation has accused the Media Adviser to Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), Mr Kayode Odunaro, of fabricating a court verdict and a “zero vote” score to discredit the aspirant. It insists the suit over the Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) primary is still pending and has been adjourned to 18th November 2026.

In a press statement signed by its Media Aide, Femi Oyewale, the campaign organisation said its attention had been drawn to “sensational, misleading, and utterly laughable” remarks Odunaro made during a recent radio appearance. It accused him and “his factional handlers” of resorting to “cheap falsehoods, political intimidation, and statistical absurdities” to cover up what it called “arguably the most flawed and anti-democratic primary process in the history of the Ogun State All Progressives Congress.”
At the centre of the dispute is the claim that Hon. Abayomi Hunye, described by his camp as “a grassroots titan, dedicated party loyalist, and prominent son of Yewaland”, scored no votes in any of Ogun State’s 236 wards.
The campaign dismissed the claim as “a mathematical impossibility and an insult to the intelligence of thousands of APC faithful who stood courageously in the sun to vote for genuine, home-grown leadership.” It asked how a candidate with “verified, robust support across the three senatorial districts” could score zero.
According to the statement, “a ‘zero vote’ allocation is not an election result; it is a manufactured figure written in secret rooms to validate an orchestrated imposition.”
The camp also questioned the motive behind the media campaign. “If Hon. Hunye truly had no followership, why are Odunaro, his principal, and their propaganda machinery spending millions of Naira daily, hopping from radio station to radio station, seeking to discredit a man they claim scored ‘zero’?” it asked. “Panic has clearly set in.”
“There is no court verdict”
The statement’s sharpest allegation is that Odunaro tried to prejudge a matter that is still before the court. It said he “deceitfully asserted” on radio that “after the court verdict, it was said he actually scored zero.”
The campaign called this “a blatant, calculated lie aimed at misinforming the public, preempting the judiciary, and subtly attempting to influence the bench.”
It stated plainly that “there is NO COURT VERDICT” in the suit, identified as *Abayomi Semako Hunye v. APC & 2 Ors.* The matter, it said, “remains active, pending, and fully before the court.”
At the most recent sitting, which was attended by Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) representing all parties, no judgment was delivered. The suit was simply adjourned to 18th November 2026.
The camp then posed pointed questions to Odunaro. “Where did Odunaro get his fictional ‘court verdict’? Is Senator Adeola’s camp now running a parallel court system?” it asked. It also asked whether the camp was trying “to blackmail the judiciary, prejudice the mind of the honorable judge, and manufacture a verdict in the court of public opinion” before the case returns to court.
It added that the alleged fabrication “proves that they are terrified of facing constitutional scrutiny before an unbiased court.”
The Hunye camp also rejected Odunaro’s references to party suspension and threats of criminalisation, describing them as “nothing more than classical political intimidation.” It maintained that Hunye “remains an unblemished, bonafide leader of the APC.”
It described the “continuous deployment of threats, sponsored media lynching, and contrived ward-level declarations” as evidence that the opposing camp is “terrified of facing the true test of internal democracy and constitutional scrutiny.”
The campaign organisation sternly cautioned Odunaro and his sponsors that “sub-judice matters cannot be settled by media tyranny or radio grandstanding.” It said the primary process, the statutory nomination declarations made under oath and the wider question of candidate legitimacy are all before “a court of competent jurisdiction.”
It demanded that Senator Adeola’s camp “desist from attempting to intimidate the court, influence ongoing proceedings, or mislead Ogun citizens with fictional judge verdicts.”
The statement also urged Ogun residents, loyal APC members and the legal community to “disregard the fraudulent claims” it attributed to Senator Adeola’s media operation.
Describing Hunye as “resolute, fully committed to constitutional justice”, the campaign said it was confident that the proceedings on 18th November 2026 “will expose all secret-room manipulations.”
“No amount of falsehoods, radio chatter, or desperate attempts to influence the judiciary will stop the truth from prevailing,” Oyewale concluded.
