The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Chief Toyin Amuzu, has pledged to prioritise the welfare and development of his constituents by facilitating projects and initiatives that address their basic needs.

Amuzu made the pledge while commissioning a borehole for public use at Laloko Compound, Igbore, in Abeokuta South, Ogun State, where he reaffirmed his commitment to providing interventions in communities lacking essential amenities.
He said access to potable water remained one of the fundamental needs that required greater attention at the grassroots, stressing that the provision of basic infrastructure could significantly improve the quality of life of residents.
According to him, his interventions in the constituency before assuming public office were motivated by a genuine desire to serve the people and demonstrate what effective representation should entail.
Amuzu said: “If I can use my personal money to finance projects for the public, then I believe I will do well with government funds. Government funds are meant for the people, and my priority will be to ensure that such resources are channelled into projects that will improve their lives.”
The PDP candidate said his vision went beyond the execution of individual projects, explaining that his ultimate goal was to build a federal constituency where residents could point to tangible development and take pride in their communities.
He argued that political representation should not be restricted to political activities and campaign promises, but should translate into concrete interventions capable of addressing the everyday challenges confronting constituents.
Amuzu added that, if elected, he would work with relevant government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders to attract projects and initiatives that would create lasting value across Abeokuta South.
He said: “My desire is to see a federal constituency that the people will be proud of.”
The newly commissioned borehole at Laloko Compound is part of a series of community-focused interventions attributed to Amuzu, particularly in the area of access to potable water and other basic amenities.
He urged members of the community to take ownership of the facility by ensuring its proper maintenance and responsible use for the benefit of all residents.
Amuzu reiterated his commitment to a representation that would make the presence of government more visible through practical projects, improved infrastructure and initiatives tailored to the needs of the people.
The event was attended by the Ogun State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Semiu Shodipo, community members and other stakeholders, who commended the provision of the borehole as an intervention aimed at addressing the community’s need for accessible water.
