Internet personality Blessing CEO has denied authorising anyone to solicit funds on her behalf following the reported death of her second son.
Actress Doris Ogala made this known after speaking with Blessing CEO on phone. She subsequently urged the public to disregard a video in which a woman was allegedly soliciting donations on Blessing’s behalf.
According to Ogala, the woman claimed that ₦20 million was needed, with an additional ₦36 million, bringing the total amount being sought to ₦56 million.
However, Blessing reportedly denied having any knowledge of the fundraising effort when Ogala asked if she had authorised anyone to solicit funds on her behalf.
“No, I’m not aware of that. No, no, no, no, I didn’t,” she said.
Blessing also denied giving anyone permission to announce the reported death of her son, saying she believed she was in the best position to make such an announcement herself.
“I didn’t give anybody consent and according to the phone passing of my son, I think I’m in the best position to break that news, not an entire stranger,” she said.
Following the conversation, Ogala advised anyone who may have donated through the alleged fundraising effort to seek a refund, stressing that Blessing had not authorised the appeal.
Ogala also stated that Blessing was nearing the end of her bail process, while reiterating that the ₦56 million fundraising appeal was not initiated or authorised by her.
