Tinubu Condemns Mass Abduction In Niger, Orders Immediate Rescue Operation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and other relevant security and intelligence agencies to immediately launch a coordinated rescue operation for victims of the recent mass abduction in Niger State.

In a statement issued Tuesday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President condemned the abduction and killing of innocent citizens by criminal elements in the state, describing the attack as cowardly and its perpetrators as enemies of peace and humanity.

Tinubu extended condolences to the families of those killed, praying for the repose of their souls and for strength for their loved ones. He assured affected families that they were not alone, stressing that the government and security forces would not relent until every victim was safely returned home.

β€œTerror will not cow Nigeria,” he said. β€œWe will defend our people, protect our communities, and uphold the sanctity of human life.”

The President has directed the Service Chiefs to brief him regularly on the progress of the rescue operation until all abducted persons are accounted for. He also pledged that the Federal Government would stand firmly with the Niger State Government, providing full support for recovery, relief efforts, and reinforced security in the affected communities.
