Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has declared that no one will be allowed to grab or snatch ballot boxes in Osun State during Saturday’s governorship election.

In a video statement released on Friday, the singer said: “We have a show tonight in Crystal Palace but first thing tomorrow morning, we’ll land in Osun State, we heard there’s a signal from the top ‘grab it, snatch it’, nobody can grab or snatch any ballot box in Osun State tomorrow.”
Davido, who is actively supporting the re-election bid of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, made the comments hours before headlining the Davido & Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London.
The statement comes amid heightened political tension ahead of the August 15 poll, with the singer repeatedly calling for a free, fair and peaceful election while mobilising support for the incumbent governor.
