During his visit to the Waru Wazobia community in Apo, Abuja, NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi unveiled an ambitious vision to establish primary healthcare centres in all of Nigeria’s more than 8,000 wards. Addressing residents during the ongoing PVC registration exercise, Obi emphasized that true governance is measured not by what happens in major cities, but by the impact it has on underserved rural communities.

“This is where governance truly matters, not only in the cities. The rural communities, where the needs are greatest, are where government should demonstrate that it exists and genuinely cares for its people. These communities deserve quality education, accessible primary healthcare, and other essential basic amenities,” he said.
Obi also urged Nigerians to play an active role in the electoral process, stressing that meaningful national development begins with citizen participation. His remarks have sparked fresh conversations about rural development, healthcare, education, and the importance of voting in shaping Nigeria’s future.
