Troops have arrested Abubakar Adamu, a notorious bandit leader known as ‘Buba’, in Hokk village, Horop District of Bokkos LGA, Plateau State, IgbereTV reports.

Buba was apprehended at Hokk Market square on Monday by a joint security team led by Sub Lieutenant Abubakar Aminu Buda, Area Commander of Operation Enduring Peace in Mushere. The team included nine soldiers, six vigilantes, seven hunters, and community leaders.
Security sources said the team rode motorcycles into the village due to poor road access and caught the bandits off guard. Other gang members fled into nearby mountains, but Buba was captured and taken to a primary school playground for questioning.
Buba is accused of leading repeated attacks on Mushere West since last year. The raids killed residents, destroyed homes, and led to the looting of food and livestock worth millions of naira. Many residents fled to IDP camps in Horop, Ik’ngwagap, and Bokkos town.
Monday’s arrest is the first time security forces have entered Hokk and apprehended a suspect since the attacks began.
Troops have since intensified patrols to track other gang members still operating in Mushere West.
Residents have commended the operation and urged security forces to sustain the offensive, especially during the farming season.
Buba is currently detained at Operation Enduring Peace headquarters in Jos for further investigation.
