Mukhtar Yero, former governor of Kaduna, Sunday Katung, senator representing Kaduna south, and Shehu Sani, ex-senator, have won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Kaduna.
Yero won the Kaduna north ticket, Katung retained the Kaduna south seat, and Sani clinched the Kaduna central ticket.

In Kaduna north, Yero polled 6,060 votes to defeat Muhammad Mu’azu Mukaddas, who scored 1,044 votes, and Yusuf Bala Ikara, with 372 votes. Hassan Saleh, the returning officer, announced results of the primaries conducted on Monday.
Speaking after the exercise, Yero commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the primary and extended a hand of fellowship to his co-contestants.
He urged APC stakeholders to unite ahead of the 2027 polls and pledged quality representation if elected.
Katung defeated his predecessor, Danjuma Tella Laah, and Michael Auta.
Katung scored 7,453 votes; Laah polled 1,370, while Auta got 878.
The results were announced at the Jema’a LGA.
In Kaduna central, Sani, who represented the district between 2015 and 2019 at the senate, polled 9,105 votes to defeat Yusuf Zailani, former speaker of the state house of assembly, who scored 1,021 votes.
