Rt Hon Chinedum Orji (Ikuku Oma) wins APC Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency Ticket With Massive Landslide

Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji, former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and APC House of Representatives candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, has recorded a sweeping victory in the just concluded All Progressives Congress primaries, winning in all 32 wards across the constituency.

The primary election, which attracted massive participation from party delegates and stakeholders across the three local government areas, ended in a resounding endorsement of the former Speaker’s political strength, grassroots influence and enduring popularity within the APC structure in Abia State.

From Ikwuano to Umuahia North and Umuahia South, delegates voted overwhelmingly in favour of Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji, delivering what political analysts have described as one of the most dominant performances witnessed in recent APC primary contests within the state.

The victory immediately sparked celebrations across several parts of the constituency as supporters, youth groups and party loyalists trooped out in jubilation, describing the outcome as a reward for loyalty, accessibility and years of political experience.

Party members who monitored the exercise commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries and praised delegates for what they called a united decision to rally behind a candidate they believe possesses the capacity, influence and legislative experience needed to effectively represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

Several APC stakeholders also noted that the outcome reflects growing unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji remains one of the strongest political figures capable of consolidating the party’s structure and expanding its support base across the constituency.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji expressed deep appreciation to delegates, party executives, leaders and supporters for the overwhelming confidence reposed in him.

He described the victory as not just a personal achievement, but a collective triumph for unity, loyalty and the shared vision of advancing the interests of the people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South.

According to him, the mandate freely given by party members would further inspire him to remain committed to quality representation, empowerment programmes, infrastructure advocacy and people oriented legislation that would positively impact the lives of constituents.

He also called on party faithful to remain united and focused ahead of the general elections, stressing that the APC remains determined to strengthen its presence across Abia State.

Political observers believe the comprehensive victory has further reinforced Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji’s position as a formidable force in Abia politics and a major contender in the forthcoming House of Representatives election.
