The National Judicial Council has recommended the elevation of Twelve High Court Justices to the Appeal Court
This is to replace the vacancies in the Appeal Court occasioned by elevation of some Judges to the Supreme Court, death or retirement.

Justice Yakubu, Abdulhammeed Mohammed – Gombe State
Justice Abodunde, Monisola Oluwatoyin – Ekiti State
Justice Ajuwa, Raphael – Bayelsa State
Justice Abua, Elias Ojie – Cross River State
Justice Ijohor, Mbalamen Jennifer – Benue State
Justice Shuaibu, Sabiu Bala – Kebbi State
Justice Omotosho, James Kolawole – Ogun State
Justice Nwite, Emeka – Ebonyi State
Justice Buba, Dauda Njane – Taraba State
Justice Kado, Sanusi – Katsina State
Justice Ademola, Enikuomehin – Ondo State
Justice Dadom, Julcit Veronica – Plateau State
The NJC also adopted a new Policy of appointing retired public servants who have a minimum of ten (10) years before the mandatory retirement age.
Judges in Nigeria retire at 70.
