Dr Barry Of The Obidient Movement Replies Serah Ibrahim

Serah, it’s Barry here.
Since you have now chosen to publicly puncture the carefully manufactured myth that the now disbanded “Obidient Movement” was some pristine, spontaneous uprising untouched by money or coordination, perhaps it is only fair that Nigerians hear the full story. So, by your own admission, people were hired and paid to “mobilise” for protests and court appearances?
Interesting. You see why I am compelled to disband the movement now?

I had thought the script we all agreed to with Peter Obi was that this was an entirely organic movement. Millions of passionate Nigerians, driven solely by conviction, patriotism, and a burning desire for change. Not bank alerts, hired logistics, and backstage coordination.
So where exactly are the so called 10 million “organic followers” if mobilisation required financial inducement?

The Obidient Movement is a fraud. You just confirmed that.

And since you have opened this door to infamy, should I also tell the world how much money was shared? Should I begin to produce receipts too? Should I tell the world the debauchery in your defunct Obidient Movement. You, Sarah, do you want to drive with me on that avenue?

For a man whose defenders endlessly market him as one who does not give “shishi,” how exactly did money suddenly appear to “pay” me for mobilisation? Which version should Nigerians believe?

Obidient is a fraud. Obedient is the truth.
The truth is simple: we have always paid people. So let no one continue selling this fairy tale of some untouched moral revolution powered only by pure conviction. That is fake.
Happy you just confirmed it.

This is the enduring contradiction at the heart of Peter Obi’s political ecosystem: public sermons about purity, sacrifice, and moral superiority, while privately operating the same transactional politics they loudly condemn – even in a more damning dimension.

And please, let’s dispense with the melodrama over who “started” what. A genuine people’s movement is not a privately held company with shareholders fighting over founding rights. But since ownership has suddenly become the issue, let the record reflect: I created the brand, and the rest of you including Peter Obi and Tanko came onboard later. You brought toxicity to the movement.

The moment money becomes the evidence of influence, the halo begins to slip. The sainthood narrative starts to crumble.

The mask begins to fall. The real entitled, corrupt, immoral identity starts to emerge.
Nigerians are not fools. You cannot market a revolution in public and operate a payment desk in private. Obidient is a fraud.

Onyi Ala!

Let Nigerians judge.
