FG , Development Partners On Science And Collaboration To Drive Healthcare System

The Federal Government is reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening healthcare systems through science, collaboration, and evidence-based policies as the country joins the global community to commemorate World Health Day 2026.

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare brought together stakeholders, development partners, health professionals, and policy experts to reflect on this year’s global theme, “Together for Health, Stand with Science.”

The engagement highlighted Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to promote scientific innovation, research-driven decision-making, and community participation in tackling emerging health challenges while improving national health outcomes.

At a ministerial briefing in Abuja, Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiak Salako, emphasised that science remains the foundation for effective disease prevention, vaccination programmes, pandemic preparedness, and the management of both communicable and non-communicable diseases.

As Nigeria marks World Health Day 2026, authorities reaffirmed that building resilient health systems requires unity, sustained investment, and unwavering support for science as a guiding force for national and global health security.
