…inspects Ofriyo–Eket bridge, dual carriageway, hospital projects
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged indigenes and residents of Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, as well as others across the state, to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and APC membership e-Registration exercise, as, according to him, it is crucial for validating party membership and ensuring their voices are heard.

Addressing a crowd of APC members and supporters at his hometown, Ikot Ekpene Udo, the Governor said that boosting both registrations is also critical to attracting more dividends, programmes, and welfare to the area.
“More party membership in a particular Ward implies more allocation of the party’s welfare to the place. And, I enjoin you to step up the membership numbers in order to be significant and relevant in the party’s scheme of things,” he noted.
The Governor directed the people to ensure that they register appropriately with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to have their Permanent Voters Cards, PVC, and become eligible to participate in future electoral exercises.
“No matter how populated you are in your party, if you don’t have your PVC, such a party population will be meaningless because your vote would not be counted as expected.
“So, I urge you to take these things very seriously and act accordingly for you and our people to be qualified to participate adequately in the upcoming elections,” he stressed.
Having gone round during the day to inspect the ongoing 120-metre Ofriyo–Eket Bridge and the 2.5 kilometre dual carriageway connecting Eket and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas, and the ongoing General Hospital project in Ikot Ekpene Udo, the Governor enjoined the people to fully support the projects and other developmental initiatives of the administration for the overall benefit of the local government area and the State at large.
“Let us allow sustainable development into our communities and villages. Let us utilize this leadership opportunity to better our lot, and not fight ourselves and miss this chance” he added.
Earlier, the Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Hon. Charles Alfred, welcomed and commended the Governor for his impactful leadership across the State, expressing the people’s delight and pride to have the Governor as their son.
The State Chairman of APC, Chief Stephen Ntukekpo, described the Governor as a man whose exceptional leadership and performance have distinguished him for respect and emulation within and beyond the State.
The President-General of Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko, in his submission admired the Governor’s visionary leadership and remarkable infrastructural transformation of the State, urging the people to keep on supporting the quality leadership of the Governor.
He appreciated the party faithful for turning out massively to support the day’s event, reiterating that “come Friday, 30th January, 2026, every member of the party will converge at their respective wards to further the e-registration exercise.
“The Chairman of our Party has announced that on Friday, 30th January, all of us should go back to our different Wards across the State for a mop-up registration to increase the membership strength of our Party.
“We will only stand a better chance to win the elections if we have a huge party membership. APC must be returned to continue with its people-centric development drive across the State and the nation,” he said.
The event witnessed the presence of the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; members of the State Executive Council; political stalwarts; captains of industry; Government functionaries; and the general public.
