Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly expressed appreciation to his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, for stepping in to address renewed paternity claims involving a young girl identified as Anu Adeleke.
The singer’s reaction followed a press conference convened by his father to clarify the family’s position amid widespread social media speculation and allegations surrounding the child.
According to a report by Eyes Of Lagos, Dr. Adeleke directly addressed the controversy during the media briefing, stating categorically that Anu Adeleke is not his granddaughter.
He revealed that DNA tests had previously been conducted, the results of which, he said, showed no biological relationship between Davido and the child in question.
Dr. Adeleke stressed that the matter had been conclusively resolved years ago but continued to resurface due to persistent online claims.
During the press conference, the billionaire businessman also accused investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo of allegedly impersonating the minor online in an attempt to sustain attacks against Davido.
He questioned the legality and ethics of such actions, especially as they involve a minor, warning that the continued publication of the claims could amount to defamation.
Dr. Adeleke disclosed that the family is considering legal action to put an end to what he described as a prolonged campaign of misinformation and harassment.
Following the press conference, Davido took to social media to thank his father for speaking out and defending the family amid the controversy.
The singer’s response has since sparked widespread reactions online, with fans praising Dr. Adeleke for taking a firm stance and calling for an end to the recurring allegations.
As of the time of filing this report, Kemi Olunloyo has yet to officially respond to the statements made by the Adeleke family.
