The family members and friends of Rev. Edwin Achi, an Anglican priest kidnapped alongside his wife, Sarah Achi, on October 26, 2025, have appealed to President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to take action to enable them regain their freedom from captivity.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, family members indicated that the priest and his wife have now spent nearly four weeks in the kidnappers’ custody after being taken captive following an attack on their residence in Nissi village, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The family members urged security agencies to build on ongoing security alert across the country to rescue the kidnapped couple.
The kidnappers have reportedly communicated with some family members, demanding an outrageous ransom for their release.
The family also called on all people of goodwill to join in praying for the safe and swift return of Rev. Achi and his wife.
“We are here along with friends of our brother and his wife to appeal to all relevant authorities, security agencies and President Bola Tinubu in particular, begging to release Rev. Achi and his wife from the hands of terrorists; we need your help now more than ever before,” the message read.
