Dear Mr President
This is a time to unite our country; this is a time to heal our nation. Everything seems to be in disarray.
We are witnessing the needless killings of both Muslims and Christians across the country.
We are seeing growing disregard for Nigeria by global leaders, with unsettling conversations about the possibility of external invasion.
We continue to endure persistent hardship that weighs heavily on our citizens.
And the political tension consuming major opposition parties—PDP, Labour, and others—has only deepened the national unease.
It is perceptible even to the blind that there is tension in the land. Yet, in moments like this, leadership becomes the anchor of hope. The only person capable of reuniting this nation and placing her once again on a progressive path is the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Let us remember the labour of our heroes past. Let us keep this country united and commit ourselves to healing our land.
My humble and sincere appeal to Mr President is to grant pardon to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Clemency at this moment will not only quell the security tension in the country, particularly in the South-East, but will also draw his supporters closer to the leadership of Mr President—the father of this great nation.
Let us preserve our unity so that Nigeria remains strong enough to confront anyone who intends to undermine our sovereignty.
Signed
Hon Alex Mascot Ikwechegh
