UMUAHIA, Abia State β Igbere TV has authoritatively debunked a false and misleading report circulating on some mushroom blogs, which claimed that the former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia Central, His Excellency Sen. Theodore Ahamefule Orji (Ochendo), has joined the Labour Party (LP).

This clarification comes hours after Igbere TV broke the news of the former governor’s formal resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a decision he stated was taken after “wide consultations with family and associates.”
In his resignation letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP in Ward 1, Umuahia North LGA, the former lawmaker made no mention of defecting to any other political party.
In an exclusive chat with Igbere TV, Mr. Ifeanyi Umere, the official Spokesman to the former Governor, categorically stated that Sen. T.A. Orji has not joined the Labour Party or any other political party at this time.
βThe report of his joining the Labour Party is completely false and should be disregarded,β Umere told Igbere TV.
He further emphasized that the former governor is currently in a phase of political consultation and has not taken a decision on his next move.
βFor the avoidance of doubt, Sen. T.A. Orji has only resigned his membership of the PDP. He has not joined the Labour Party or any other party. If and when he decides to join a new political platform, it will be communicated to the general public through his official channels,β the spokesman added.
Igbere TV urges the public and media outlets to disregard the fabricated report and always rely on our platform for verified and authentic news.
