"I Am Alive and Healthy": Obiano Debunks Death Rumour

Former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has assured the public that he is alive and in good health, dismissing false reports that he had passed away.

The rumours had circulated widely online earlier on Friday, prompting reactions from the public and his associates.

Obiano addressed the situation in a Facebook post, saying: “My beloved Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers, I woke to hear of a rumour making the rounds about my wellbeing. Let me assure you personally: I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.” He added that it was “unfortunate that some individuals still find joy in spreading falsehood.”

His former Commissioner for Information, C. Don Adinuba, also debunked the reports, describing them as false and mischievous.

He said: “At only 70 years of age, Chief Obiano has joined the ranks of great men like the Great Zik of Africa, whose rumoured death once turned out to be utterly false and without any foundation.”

Adinuba further clarified in a statement that “Chief Obiano lives in Texas, United States, and not in London,” adding that the former governor “is not only alive but healthy, strong, and remarkably agile.”

Obiano, meanwhile, thanked everyone who reached out, saying: “Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.”
