The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully foiled a major cannabis smuggling attempt after intercepting 48.6kg of high-grade “Loud” concealed inside kitchen sinks.
According to agency spokesperson Femi Babafemi, operatives seized 90 parcels of the illicit drug on Tuesday, August 19, at a courier company in Lagos. The cannabis was discreetly packed into three cartons of imported kitchen sinks from the United States.
Babafemi stated that the operation was carried out by the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation, in line with the agency’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking through courier services.
This seizure adds to the NDLEA’s series of recent breakthroughs in curbing the smuggling of dangerous substances across Nigeria.
