Dr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh, OFR, has dismissed as false a media report published on August 7 and 8, 2025, by some news platforms, claiming he stated that former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement, the former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) stressed that he never made such remarks to any media outlet, describing the report as fabricated and a deliberate distortion of facts.
He urged the public to disregard the publication completely, labeling it as fake news, and reaffirmed his commitment to truth, accountability, and responsible public engagement.

My attention has been drawn to a misleading publication circulated by some media outfits on the 7th and 8th of August, 2025, falsely claiming that I stated former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, is still a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
I wish to categorically state that I made no such statement to any media organization. The report is entirely fabricated and a gross misrepresentation of facts.
I urge the public to disregard the said publication in its entirety and treat it as fake news.
