FRSC Operatives Accused Of Mounting Road Block To Harass Worshippers In Kubwa

Operatives of the Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corp have continually harassed Christian worshippers at the Dutse, Kubwa axis of Abuja.

The operatives mount a road block between 8 am and 10 am when worshippers are in rush to attend the early morning church services.

The FRSC officials force car owners to park for checking thereby causing avoidable delays and lateness to services on Sundays.

Repeated appeals to the FRSC officials about the weekly harassment of worshippers on Sundays have been ignored.

Our correspondent observed that the operatives involved in the recurrent weekly harassment of worshippers on Sundays are mostly Muslims.

When our correspondent told one of the FRSC officials that the checking of documents at the Dutse Market around about was causing lateness and delays, he gave a curious advise,

He said, “You can wake up early. Wake up by 6am and go to your church if you don’t want your vehicle to be checked.

When asked how would take it, if he is delayed by Christian operatives for Jumait Service when running late, he got angry saying that is your business.

He went further to advise Christian worshippers to wake up as early as 6am to prepare for services if they want to avoid the delays or lateness.

A few months ago, our correspondent contacted the National Spokesman of the FRSC, Mr Adeniyi, to ask why a road block was mounted in an area not known as a flash point for accidents but to harass worshippers, he said the issue would be looked into.

A top official of the FRSC said that the matter was discussed in their meeting but wondered why the operatives returned after two weeks.

The curious thing about the FRSC transmit that they leave the road block immediately after the Sunday services.
