The academic community of Prince Abubakar Audu University, formerly known as Kogi State University, Anyigba, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden and controversial death of one of its lecturers, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle.
According to reports widely circulating on social media, Dr. Ibikunle allegedly lost his life during a private encounter with a 200-level female student of the institution in a hotel located in Anyigba.
The lecturer was said to have died during an intimate moment in what sources have described as “active bedroom service” with the student.
Though the specific department of both the deceased and the student has not been confirmed, images of the lecturer have surfaced online, fueling discussions across various platforms. The identity of the student involved remains undisclosed.
The female student has reportedly been taken into police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the lecturer’s death.
As of the time of this report, neither the university authorities nor the Kogi State Police Command has issued an official statement on the incident.
